On July 24, 2008 the Constitutional Court handed down a ruling on the Trade\npromotion agreement between the Republic of Colombia and the United States\nof America, its attached correspondence, statements of intent and modifying\nprotocols which were agreed upon by the Congress of the Republic of Colombia\nthrough the passage of Bill 1143 of 2007 and Bill 1166 of 2007 (Nov 4). Seven\nConstitutional court judges voted in favor of its constitutionality, one against\nand one recused himself.
