Türkiye’nin Kıbrıs’ta Yeni Politikası ve Küresel Bölgesel Dengeler” başlıklı panel, Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi Kıbrıs Politikalar Merkezi, Euro Politika Dergisi ve Doğu Akdeniz Politika Derneği’nin iş birliği ile Merit İnternational Hotels Ana sponsorluğunda 13 Ağustos 2021 Cuma günü Merit Crystal Cove Hotel (Girne)’de gerçekleştirildi. Doğu Akdeniz’de son dönem gelişen sıcak gündem konuları mercek altına alınarak analiz edilen panelde Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi Kıbrıs Politikalar Merkezi Başkanı Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, KKTC Eski Başbakanı Ferdi Sabit Soyer, Ulusal Birlik Partisi (UBP) Lefkoşa Milletvekili Hasan Taçoy, KKTC Eski Başbakan Yardımcısı ve Eski Dışişleri Bakanı ve Akademisyen Prof. Dr. Kudret Özersay, Diyalog Medya Grubu Genel Yayın Yönetmeni ve Gazeteci Reşat Akar, ve Emekli Büyükelçi Daryal Batıbay konuşmacı olarak katıldılar. Oturumun moderatörlüğünü de yapan Sözen’in katılımcıları tanıtımı sonrasında, konuşmacılar enteresan bir dönemden geçildiğini ve ABD’nin nispeten düşüşü ile birlikte Çin’in ve Rusya’nın göreceli olarak yükseldiği küresel ve Arap Baharı bölgesel gelişmeler sonrasında çok farklı sebeplerden dolayı Kıbrıslı Rumların güdümünde Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti, Yunanistan, İsrail, Mısır, Fransa ve ABD gibi aktörler çok ciddi işbirliği içine girerek Türkiye’nin karşısında bir blok oluşturduğu bir dönemde Türkiye’nin Kıbrıs’taki yeni politikasını değerlendirdiler.
