Abstract
Recent adjustments in American criminal justice policy have created a uniquely large prison population. Dr. Malcolm Greenshields will discuss his views on the effectiveness of these policies. Speaker: Dr. Malcolm GreenshieldsMalcolm Greenshields was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and spent his childhood in Saskatoon, Iowa and Ottawa. He completed a diploma in Agriculture, followed by a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in History at the University of Saskatchewan in 1978. He then earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Sussex, England in 1986. Dr.Greenshields taught and served in academic administration at the University of Saskatchewan from 1980-85 and 1987-88. Since 1985 he has taught in the History Department at the University of Lethbridge.
