Abstract
ÖZETXVLL. yüzyılda Erzurum Şehri'nin mamul' bir hale gelmesinde vakıfmüesseselerinin önemli pay sahibi olmuştu. Şehirdeki sosyal hayatın düzenli olarakişlemesi ve kamusal hizmetlerin gerçekleşmesinde vakıfların göz ardı edilmeyecekölçüde katkıları olmuştu. Nitekim yüzyıl başlarında Yeniçeri Ağası Zağarcıbaşı AliAğa'mn tesis ettiği vakıf müessesesinin de şehrin gelişimine katkı sağlamışt!. AliAğa, yeni kurulmuş olan İlyas Katib(el-Hık İlyas) Mahallesi'nde bir camiyaptırdığı gibi caminin masrafları için de şehrin muhtelif yerlerinde de gayr-imenkuJ1er temin etmişti. Gerek cami için ve gerekse vakfın işlerini de yapacakgörevliler istihdam edilmişti. Bu vakıf ile ilgili olarak ilgi çeken bir husus ise; XVI.yüzyılın sonlarına doğru ortaya çıkan Yeniçeri-Halk gerginliğinin olduğu sıralardatesis edilmesidir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Vakıt~ Yeniçeri, Vakfıye, Erzurum, XVII. yüzyıl ABSTRACTThe pious foundations played an important role in the constr'Jctionaldevelopment of the city of Erzurum in the seventeenth century. Besides, they hadalso an important function in organising the nonnal now of social life and publicservices. The pious foundation, estahlished by the Agha of the JanissariesZagharjibashi, Ali Agha at the tum of the century, was also effective in thedevelopment of the city. Ali Agha built a mosque in the new founded İlyas Katıb(el-Hac İlyas) quarter and al1 its expenses were met from the rent incomes ofvarious properties. There were employee's who did both, the foundation andmosque works. Another interesting aspect of this foundation is that it was foundedat the end of the sixteenth century, a time when the tension between the people andthe janissary was at its highest.Key Words: Pious foundation, Janissary, the charter of a pious foundation,Erzurum, Seventeenth century
