Abstract
日本の大学では、研究力向上が喫緊の課題となっている。この課題解決へ向けて様々な取り組みが行われているが、米国の大学ではどのような研究支援が行われているのだろうか。そこで、米国の主要研究系大学における統計コンサルティングサービスの設置状況に関して予備的調査を実施した。その結果、調査対象としたR1研究系大学146校のうち、95.9％にあたる140校で、統計コンサルティングサービスの存在が確認された。
