Cette recherche-création utilise une approche qualitative pour mieux comprendre les liens qui existent entre la metteure en scène et sa capacité à nourrir ses collaborateurs et sa communauté. En partant du constat que la nourriture est de plus en plus présente sur les scènes contemporaines et dans les processus créatifs, cette recherche étudie pourquoi une quantité d’artistes utilisent l’aliment comme outil « nourrissant » permettant rencontre et partage. Me basant sur des exemples de théâtre participatif qui « nourrissent » ou mettent en scène la nourriture et explorent la fonction symbolique de l’aliment sur scène, j’espère illuminer la raison pour laquelle Richard Schechner dit en 2003 que le théâtre transforme ce qui est cru en ce qui est cuit1. La partie théorique de ce projet s’articule autour de l’analyse des notions comme le rituel, la convivialité, la performance, le théâtre communautaire, la participation et la dissociation alimentaire. Ensuite, la partie pratique de ce projet s’est déployée au cours d’un processus artistique de 10 laboratoires de création avec 6 acteurs, entre les mois de novembre 2020 et de mai 2021 à l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Durant ces laboratoires, j’ai mené des discussions et des improvisations dans le but d’étudier le rôle de la metteure en scène comme créatrice d’expériences artistiques nourrissantes et d’examiner comment séparer l’aliment de sa nature comestible. Ceci a donné lieu à une conférence-démonstration finale portant sur nos explorations et mes réflexions sur le processus, dont je rendrai compte ici. Grâce aux entretiens de groupe et questionnaires remplis par les acteurs, l’objectif principal de ce mémoire est de déterminer quels matériels, méthodes et explorations conduisent à changer notre vision de la nourriture et facilitent une culture théâtrale nourrissante. \n_____________________________________________________________________________ \nMOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : nourriture, théâtre participatif, art nourrissant, rituel, processus créatif, convivialité, communauté, mise en scène.
