Los colectivos de agricultura urbana orientados al desarrollo comunitario sustentable han crecido en Colombia, pero su contribución al bienestar ha sido poco estudiada en el país. En concordancia, este estudio propone describir el bienestar subjetivo y las actitudes proambientales, asociadas a la agricultura urbana en el colectivo Agroarte, en Medellín. La metodología se fundamentó en un estudio de caso cualitativo, a través de observación y entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los resultados muestran que la percepción de bienestar no ocurre sólo por la agricultura, sino también por la apropiación de espacios públicos y el fortalecimiento de lazos comunitarios. Además de los afectos positivos asociados a trabajar la tierra, la satisfacción con la vida está relacionada con aportar al cuidado ambiental y lograr incidencia política. La favorabilidad hacia la agricultura urbana se articula con otras actitudes proambientales, cuyo eje es el valor de la vida. Se concluye que el bienestar asociado a Agroarte ocurre por la restauración emocional, facilitada por la conexión con la naturaleza, y por constituir un escenario de socialización alternativo a la violencia. La agricultura urbana es una práctica de iniciación al cuidado ambiental y la participación comunitaria, detonando el interés de implicarse en otras formas de participación y cuidado.Nota: Artículo derivado del proyecto de investigación “Bienestar subjetivo, actitudes ambientales y agricultura urbana en el colectivo Agroarte de la ciudad de Medellín”, realizado entre 2015 y 2016.
