Abstract
Karjakoon kasvu ja parsinavetasta siirtyminen pihattonavetoihin tuo haasteita kiiman-tarkkailulle. Samaan aikaan hedelmällisyyden tunnusluvut ovat huonontuneet karjoissamme. Hedelmällisyydellä on taas vaikutusta tuottoihin. Navetoiden teknologistuessa on kiimantarkkailuunkin tullut apuvälineitä. Perinteisten progesteronitestien ja hypynilmaisimien lisäksi on pihatto-olosuhteissa mahdollisuus aktiivisuusmittareiden käyttöön. \n \nAktiivisuusmittarit pystytään liittämään tai ne jo kuuluvat navetan tuotannonohjausjär-jestelmään eli samalla kertaa tietokoneelta ohjelmasta voidaan tutkia eläinten rehun käyttöä kuin aktiivisuuttakin. Suomessa aktiivisuusmittausta tarjoavat lypsymerkit De-Laval, Lely, WestfaliaSurge, Nedap, SAC ja Strangko. Käyttäjämäärissä suurempia merkkejä ovat DeLaval, Lely ja WestfaliaSurge. \n \nOpinnäytetyössä selvitettiin aktiivisuusmittauksen käyttäjien kiimantarkkailua ja aktii-visuusmittauksesta muun muassa tyytyväisyyttä ja vaikutusta karjan hedelmällisyyteen. Tilavierailujen osalta toteutettiin kvalitatiivista tutkimusta ja aktiivisuusmittauksen käyttäjille lähetettiin kysely, joka noudatti kvantitatiivista tut-kimusta. \n \nKysely lähetettiin noin 300 tilalle ja vastausprosentti on n. 16. Vastaajista 30 %, arvioi aktiivisuusmittareiden vähentäneen kiimantarkkailuun kuluvaa aikaa noin 10 minuutilla. Siemennyspäätös tehdään pääosin omien havaintojen perusteella, ei aktiivisuusmittauksen. Aktiivisuusmittareita oli käytetty keskimäärin viisi vuotta ja 34 % arvioi aktiivisuusmittauksen vaikuttaneen karjan hedelmällisyyden tunnuslukuihin.
