7 year old Alix daydreams that she discovers a magical portal mirror in her downstairs cupboard, which leads to a bizarre and fun world. In "les pays des merveilleux" she meets a Security Chief obsessed with order, a wise Walrus, an ever inventive Rabbit, a deeply nervous Hare, excitable egg Gros Coco, and a fabulous Hatter. The friends adventures together are often hindered by the Queen of Hearts-like Grande Patronne Supreme, who always wants to send someone "au cachot" French-Canadian children's series with familiar characters inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice books, with French subtitles. Can be used by all A1 and A2 learners, but is particularly useful for those learning basic French Canadian/Québécois. For Teachers: Comment choisir des extraits vidéo et les didactiser ? by TV5MONDE, in French, advises on how to pick and choose media clips in class. For learners: Jo Adetunji's article language learning with TV features many helpful tips.
