Buscando la hipertensión enmascarada no controlada: ¿MDPA y MAPA son similares?

Abstract
La hipertensión enmascarada (HTM) en pacientes sin tratamiento antihipertensivo y la hipertensión no controlada enmascarada (HTUM) son entidades que han demostrado a lo largo del tiempo tener más eventos cardiovasculares y mortalidad comparados con los normotensos o hipertensos controlados, respectivamente. La HTM y la HTUM se han definido en todas las guías como aquel paciente que tiene valores por debajo del diagnóstico o en objetivo en consultorio, pero que al realizar mediciones fuera de este, ya sea por medición domiciliaria de presión arterial (MDPA) o medición ambulatoria de 24 horas (MAPA), los valores están elevados. En estudios previos y resumidos en diferentes revisiones sistemáticas si bien ambos métodos tenían bastante acuerdo, y también había un porcentaje que solamente alguno de los métodos lo cubría, el MAPA tenía casi el 90% del diagnóstico de HTM y HTUM.
