Bibliographic record
Abstract
Urbanization continues to increase the rate of waterproofing of soils. As a result, it has altered the natural hydrological cycle of water and increased stormwater pollution. However, implementation of best management practices (BMP) for these waters may in some cases address these issues. Therefore, two types of BMPs, bioretention cells and grass pavers, were installed at the Pierre Laporte parking lot in Victoriaville and another type of BMP, porous asphalt, was installed at the Tournesol library parking lot in Quebec City. The objective of this research project is to monitor and evaluate the quantitative and qualitative performance of these BMPs installed in the two parking lots. The methodology followed is: • Parking Pierre-Laporte: (i) analysis of rainfall data and water heights in the manhole sewer; (ii) modelling on Storm Water Management Model (SWMM); and (iii) realization of sampling and analysis of stormwater. Parking of the Le Tournesol library: (i) installation of a rain gauge and validation of its data; (ii) characterization of the infiltration capacity and (iii) realization of sampling and analysis of stormwater. For the Pierre-Laporte parking lot, the modelling results show that BMPs allow a reduction of 6 to 93 % of the total volume of runoff and 73 to 99 % of peak flows as well as an estimated offset of these peak flows between 38 min and 3 h 11 min. At the Le Tournesol library parking lot, the measured infiltration rates of porous asphalt vary between 4876 and 6677 mm/h. In terms of quality, the suspended solids’ concentration was estimated to be 100 times less in stormwater discharged to the city’s sewer system after redevelopment, compared to that in stormwater discharged to the city’s sewer system prior to redevelopment. These results show that these practices have resulted in a decrease in the quantity of water discharged to the sewer system and its pollution. This will help mimic the natural hydrological cycle of water, and then mitigate related problems such as floods and urban overflows. The performance and limitations of the installed BMP will be determined by the studies performed and future studies. Subsequently, the new designs of these BMPs can be improved to increase more performance and durability.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
