Abstract
Il contributo illustra le principali coordinate delle politiche riguardanti l’integrazione e l’inclusione delle distinte componenti della popolazione canadese. In particolare, l’intento è di comprendere le ragioni e le conseguenze dell’adozione della prospettiva multiculturale in Canada, il cui ordinamento è stato uno dei primi a orientare le proprie scelte politiche in questa direzione. \nL’analisi della legislazione e della giurisprudenza più significativa mostra l’influenza della clausola interpretativa multiculturale espressa dalla sec. 27 della Carta dei diritti e delle libertà. In questa prospettiva, pare di ravvisare una parabola che parte da un forte riconoscimento pubblico della differenza da parte dei pubblici poteri per terminare (almeno per ora) in un approccio che invece è finalizzato alla costruzione di una società neutra e depurata da manifestazioni cultural-religiose.
