Né à Port-au-Prince en 1953 et chassé de son pays par la dictature, Dany Laferrière vit au Canada depuis plus de trente ans. De retour en Haïti à la suite de la mort de son père, il retrouve les siens et un pays aimé mais où il se sent étranger. Dans une langue poétique et singulière, il raconte ces retrouvailles dans L’Enigme du retour, publié chez Grasset, prix Médicis 2009.
