Abstract
Nederland hoort internationaal tot de 'frontrunners' bij het ontwikkelen van nationaal adaptatiebeleid. Het besef groeit dat voor effectieve adaptatie van het waterbeheer internationale samenwerking en kennisontwikkeling onontbeerlijk is. De Delta Alliance biedt een platform om de kennis in deltagebieden wereldwijd te delen en te versterken. Een klimaatbestendige strategie voor Nederland kent als speerpunten de veiligheid tegen overstromingen, de waarborging van de zoetwatervoorziening, een klimaatbestendige ontwikkeling van de natuur en de integratie van klimaatopgaven in het stedelijk gebied. In het nieuw gestarte Deltaprogramma worden adaptatiemaatregelen voor de waterveiligheid en een klimaatbestendige zoetwatervoorziening verder verkend. PCCC geeft dit overzicht uit. Het is een samenwerkingsverband van de grote klimaatkennisinstellingen in Nederland: PBL, KNMI, Wageningen UR, ECN, Vrije Universiteit, Universiteit Utrecht, Deltares en NWO; namens NWO is het Gebied Aard- en Levenswetenschappen bij het PCCC betrokken.
