Ce document présente un projet de maîtrise démontrant l’intérêt technologique d’un microréacteur pour le reformage solaire du gaz naturel en hydrogène. En s’appuyant sur les avantages inhérents aux microréacteurs et aux concentrateurs cylindro-paraboliques, la technologie a le potentiel de réduire considérablement les coûts de développement (prototypage) et de production des usines de reformage tout en réduisant de 30 à 40 % les émissions de CO2 par rapport à la méthode conventionnelle. Le réacteur développé permet une haute efficacité en raison des mécanismes de récupération de chaleur intégrés à même le système. Un modèle analytique du système est fait pour évaluer les performances du réacteur pour plusieurs points d’opération. Un prototype testé en laboratoire permet de valider le concept de microréacteur pour le reformage à la vapeur, tout comme la méthode de fabrication en plaques jointes par collage par diffusion. Enfin, une analyse économique permet de prédire les conditions pour lesquelles la technologie proposée est économiquement rentable.
