Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

An earth-air heat exchanger (EAHX), also known as an earth tube heat exchanger
\nor Canadian well, is a system for cooling and heating buildings using the ground as a heat
\nsink/source. This study examines the ground temperature gradient and the performance of
\nan EAHX performance in Burkina Faso. Ground temperature measurements were made at
\ndepths of 0.5 m, 1.0 m and 1.5 m. At the hottest time of the day, 15:00, the average outside
\ntemperature was 39.0°C, but the average temperature 1.5 m underground was 30.4°C. A
\nclear phase shift was observed between the maximum outside temperature and the
\nmaximum ground temperature: the time of the day when the outside temperature is highest
\ncorresponds to the time when the underground temperature was lowest. The EAHX was 25 m
\nlong, 1.5 m underground and used a 95 m3/hr ventilator. It was able to cool the air drawn in
\nfrom the outside by 7.6°C.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
