Abstract
Notre étude se propose d’analyser d’une perspective identitaire, en prenant comme exemple le personnage d’Ozite du roman « L’Oursiade » d’Antonine Maillet, le rôle important de la femme dans la survivance de la société acadienne. Ayant un microcosme social formé autour des traditions enracinées dans sa mémoire, traditions qui viennent des temps préhistoriques, d’une époque où la vie naturelle et primitive a donné sa vraie mesure, Ozite devient elle-même partie du microcosme social de Tit-Jean et du Métis. Elle sera un agent important qui remplit sa mission de préserver la culture acadienne et d’aider les Acadiens à survivre dans un monde qui renonce aux lois primitives en faveur de la civilisation.
