Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Socially constructed ideas of gender norms and values attached to\nsexuality need to be considered when aiming to build the young\npeople’s capacity to adopt HIV preventive behaviours. We\nconducted ten focus groups and sixteen individual interviews to explore\nsexual norms among youth in Bamako. Premarital sex, multiple\npartnering, condom use and transactional sex were discussed. The\nfindings suggest that young people’s sexual norms are shaped by\nkin or authoritative elders as well as by external influences coming\nfrom Western culture. Sexual norms are differentially constructed by\nmen and women and are in contradiction with those of older generations.\nViews on premarital sex, condom use and transactional sex generated\ncontroversy among men and women, as well as among more sexually\nconservative or progressive youth. However, there was general rejection\nof multiple partnerships. Empowering youth to pursue open debates on\nsexuality may be an avenue for HIV/AIDS prevention in Mali (Afr J\nReprod Health 2008; 12[3]:173-184).

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
