Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The Global Ocean Surface Underway Data Project continues to develop towards full capabilities to manage the surface data collected by ships while traversing from port to port. The URL of the web site is www.gosud.org \nAt the last SOT meeting, the Annual Report for 2002 was presented. The annual report for 2003 has been completed and is posted at \nhttp://www.gosud.org/doc/GOSUD_2003_Report.doc \nThe report for 2004 is in preparation and will appear at the same URL in the third quarter of 2005. \nThis overview will provide updates of activities of GOSUD and how it continues to develop. \nWith some financial support from IODE, meetings of GOSUD participants were held in November, 2003 and in September, 2004 in conjunction with Argo meetings in Monterey, USA and Southampton, UK. The reports of the meetings are available from the same URL as noted above.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Teacher imitation

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
