Abstract
The Trans-Pacific Partnership, signed Monday, ties the United States, Canada and Mexico...along with nine Pacific rim countries. A historic deal between 12 countries has been reached and'll supposedly strengthen the global economy. The New York Times says the deal'll eliminate thousands of import tariffs and other barriers to international trade. Plus it would create the same trade standards across these countries, open the Internet in communist Vietnam and take a hard-line approach to illegal wildlife trafficking. A fast track bill passed earlier in the year says that U.S. Congress can't tack on any amendments or filibuster the Trans Pacific Partnership. Which means it has 90 days to review the deal before they have to vote yes or no on it.
