Abstract
Humour et adaptation à Québec L e Trident et Premier Acte avaient en commun, à l'automne 2002, d'amorcer leur saison en humour en présentant respectivement la Vis Comica, collage d'œuvres de Plaute, et King Lear contre-attaque, délire clownesque sur la matière shakespearienne.Dans les deux cas, on proposait des scènes dépouillées qui laissaient toute la place au jeu des comédiens: pour la Vis Comica, des tissus tendus sur lesquels étaient dessinées les façades des édifices; pour King Lear contre-attaque, une scène vaguement élisabéthaine, avec rideau rouge et cage du souffleur (en l'occurrence un chou-fleur affublé d'un nez de clown dans lequel croquait un comédien).De même, chacune des productions utilisait, à sa façon, le procédé de la « soirée » théâtrale appropriée au collage de textes.Si le passage d'une pièce à l'autre était clairement délimité chez Ronfard, Laroche misait sur la confusion et l'anarchie pour créer l'impression d'incompétence à la base de la drôlerie du spectacle.
