Abstract
Il saggio introduttivo riflette sulla poesia come linguaggio che unisce i popoli, che svela i sentimenti che ci avvicinano, e fanno di tutti gli uomini gli abitanti di quell’unico grande paese che è il mondo. Questa è la sensazione che si vuole trasmettere con la raccolta di ventisette poeti in lingua inglese, da varie parti del mondo. Vengono da terre con caratteristiche ambientali e storiche diverse, molto distanti tra loro, si fanno interpreti della propria cultura, denunciano gli errori della Storia, osservano con stupore e dolore gli elementi della cosiddetta civiltà occidentale infiltrarsi nel tessuto culturale del loro paese, nel frastuono delle città hanno nostalgia di silenzio, respirano la bellezza di boschi, laghi, brughiere.\n\nLa raccolta, presenta poesia del ‘900 di autori provenienti da Africa, Australia, Canada, India, Irlanda, Nuova Zelanda, Scozia.
