Abstract
L’autore ripercorre le tappe fondamentali di costituzione del nuovo Cimitero Urbano di Monza, che vide partecipare al concorso nazionale alcuni significativi architetti del primo quarto del XX secolo, tra i quali Ulisse Stacchini e Antonio Sant’Elia. Il testo propone l’evoluzione del processo ideativo della nuova cittadella per i defunti monzesi, divenuta, col tempo, luogo di memoria civica e scrigno di importanti opere d’arte. Tra tutte l’’autore presenta il monumento funebre di Michele ed Arturo Scotti, legato agli avvenimenti della Prima Guerra Mondiale e il cui apparato scultoreo fu studiato e realizzato da Eugenio Bajoni. \n \n The author traces the fundamental steps in the building of the new Urban Cemetery of Monza, that saw the participation in the national tender, of some important architects of the first quarter of the 20th century, like Ulisse Stacchini and Antonio Sant’Elia. The text shows the evolution of the creative process of the new site for the Monza citizens, which became with time, a place of civic memoirs and a treasure chest of important works of art. Among the many proposed by the author is the funerary monument of Michele and Arturo Scotti, bound to the events of WWI and the sculptural apparatus created and produced by Eugenio Bajoni.
