Abstract
La presente investigación presentó el objetivo de determinar si el hacinamiento carcelario influye en la resocialización de internos de un establecimiento penitenciario de Huacho. En el aspecto metodológico, con un enfoque cualitativo, paradigma socio crítico, tipo básico, método inductivo interpretativo y diseño fenomenológico. Las técnicas de recolección de datos fueron el análisis documental y las entrevistas semiestructurada mientras que los instrumentos fueron las fichas bibliográficas y la guía de entrevista. Los resultados indicaronque los programas para la resocialización son insuficientes por la cantidad de internos en el penal. Entre las conclusiones se halló que existe hacinamiento en el establecimiento estudiado el mismo que perjudica la resocialización de los internos por una serie de factores tales como las condiciones de salubridad, humedad de las celdas, reducido espacio para el desenvolvimiento del interno, el tratamiento psicológico escueto por la falta de especialistas y la poca profundización e individualización en el desarrollo del tratamiento
