Abstract
Bu çalışma, üniversitemiz bünyesinde bulunan “İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Nâfia ve İʿmâr Projeleri Arşivi”ne odaklanmaktadır. Bu arşiv, 19. yüzyıl sonu ve erken 20. yüzyılda gerçekleştirilen demiryollarından limanlara, İstanbul’un ilk modern konut projelerinden şehirlerin elektrifikasyonuna, bir çok kentsel altyapı projesine ilişkin evrakı içermektedir. Ülkemizin mühendislik tarihi hafızası sayılabilecek bu arşivdeki belgeler, geç Osmanlı ve erken Cumhuriyet dönemi Türkiyesi’nde yaşanan teknolojik modernizasyon ve kentsel dönüşüm sürecinine ışık tutmaktadır. Elinizdeki eserde, Osmanlı’dan erken Cumhuriyet dönemine ülkemizde gerçekleştirilen kentsel altyapı çalışmalarına ilişkin bir çok proje, bir seçki halinde araştırmacılara ve konunun meraklı okurlarına sunulmuştur.
