Abstract
Arithmétique, algèbre, pensée algébrique, quelles sont leurs différences, leurs points communs, leur spécificités ? Ces questions ont fait l'objet de travaux récents que nous proposons d'aborder lors de ces rencontres. La communication entrera dans cette réflexion en s'intéressant plus particulièrement aux recherches récentes portant sur l'enseignement et l'apprentissage de la pensée algébrique, tout particulièrement lors de la transition entre l'école primaire et secondaire : elle présentera tout d'abord la genèse de ce courant de recherche et de quelques cadres théoriques qui le structurent. Des exemples de recherches permettront ensuite d'illustrer comment ces cadres peuvent être utilisés pour approfondir la connaissance scientifique sur le sujet. La communication débouchera enfin sur une série de questions ouvertes permettant non seulement de cibler quelques enjeux actuels de ce courant de recherche mais aussi de futurs défis.
