Abstract
Cette thèse porte sur les transformations de l'organisation sociopolitique des Acadiens du Nouveau-Brunswick. L'objectif principal est de comprendre les modalités de reproduction de cette communauté politique qui ne sont pas principalement instituées par les principes étatiques ou l'unité territoriale. Notre perspective d'analyse porte surtout sur les organismes et les institutions qui représentent les Acadiens du Nouveau-Brunswick, sur les mobilisations politiques, ainsi que sur leurs rapports avec les institutions plus larges qui ont une incidence sur leur vie collective. Nous proposons une périodisation sociohistorique d'orientation typologique qui permet de dépasser les découpages binaires habituels s'appuyant sur les concepts de société traditionnelle et de société moderne. Il se dégage de notre examen six périodes, donc six grandes transformations. D'une période à l'autre, ce ne sont pas toujours les mêmes visées et logiques qui structurent l'action politique. Cette thèse met l'accent sur les capacités de définition, d'organisation et d'action sur soi de cette communauté politique qui s'inscrit tantôt dans une logique d'autonomie, tantôt dans une logique d'intégration.
