Abstract
This study pursues, among its main objectives, the socio-historical contextualization and the monographic deepening of an unpublished subject, and very little known yet. The methodological basis of this analysis derives from the rigorous comparison of archival, documentary, hemerographic and historiographic sources. The commercial exhibition of 1946 maintains the tradition of national and regional Spanish exhibitions that took place from the last quarter of the 19th century onwards. The commercial fairs of diverse rank are also very numerous, but that of regional products of the northwest was organized by the pro-Franco government during the Spanish after war period and in a context of evident social impoverishment. The new state, anxious to normalize daily life in three regions invited to participate, Asturias, León and Galicia, also wants to highlight its political successes, inoperative of course. In comparison with the previous events, this contest doesn’t achieve the acclaim of the public or of the exhibitors, in a very limited number despite the propaganda issued.
