Abstract
"El film Agora, localiza la narración en el momento de ascenso creciente del cristianismo en el mundo antiguo. En la ciudad de Alejandría convivían con dificultad judíos, paganos (que aún creían en las religiones desprendidas del politeísmo romano y egipcio) y cristianos, además estaban los “científicos”, los estudiosos, los matemáticos, astrónomos, filósofos, quienes se congregaban en la biblioteca y en su mayoría estaban del lado del paganismo, por descender de familiar patricias de estirpe romana. Hipatia era una filósofa de clase acomodada, pagana, que daba clases en la Biblioteca de Alejandría. En torno a la figura de Hipatia se construye un relato fílmico que nos permite desplegar los efectos de la pasión de la ignorancia, una de las pasiones del ser de las que habla Lacan, como pasión del analista, diferenciarla del gusto neurótico por la ignorancia, y establecer comparaciones entre el psicoanálisis, la ciencia y la religión."
