Au Québec, nombreuses sont les enseignantes[1]ayant pris la responsabilité d’une classe d’éducation préscolaire 4 ans temps plein depuis quelques années. Cette nouveauté dans le milieu scolaire soulève une réflexion sur leurs besoins en matière de formation initiale et continue. Or, jusqu’à maintenant, peu d’études ont documenté les besoins de formation des enseignantes qui y œuvrent. Cet article propose une réflexion à l’égard des besoins propres à la formation continue des enseignantes à l’éducation préscolaire 4 ans temps plein à la lumière des résultats de huit études dont l’objet de recherche était lié à l’éducation préscolaire 4 ans temps plein au Québec. De plus, des enjeux à considérer pour bonifier la formation continue de ces enseignantes sont exposés.
