ÖZETİSMÂÎL RÜSÛHÎ ANKARAVÎ’NİN MESNEVÎ ŞERHİ(MECMÛ‘ATÜ’L-LETÂ’İF VE MATMÛRATÜ’L-MA‘ÂRİF)I. Eserin orijinal ismi “Mecmû‘atü’l-Letâ’if ve Matmûratü’l-Ma‘ârif”tir. ABSTRACTİSMÂÎL RÜSÛHÎ ANKARAVÎ’S SHARH of MESNEVÎ(MECMÛ‘ATÜ’L-LETÂ’İF VE MATMÛRATÜ’L-MA‘ÂRİF)VOLUME I, TRANSCRIBED TEXT-ANALYSISErdoğan TAŞTANDoctorate Thesis, The Institute of Turkiyat ResearchsSupervisor: Prof. Dr. Tahir ÜZGÖRİsmâîl Rüsûhî Ankaravî’s Sharh of Mesnevî, which was written in the first quarter of the 17th century, is one of the important commentaries that both in the era that it was written and the period after, it was usually referred in order to understand the Mesnevî. Its original name is Mecmû‘atü’l-Letâ’if ve Matmûratü’l-Ma‘ârif. Yet, the work is being called as Şerhu’l-Mesnevî in most of sources. Ankaravî, before he prepared is commentary, as separate works, he prepared the commentary of the first eighteen verses of Mesnevî, the commentary of verses about the meanings of ayets and hadises within the Mesnevî, and finally, the commentary of other verses which are ambiguous. Afterwards, combining them all, he created this commentary. Our paper comprises the text of the author’s commentary, which is transcribed into Latin letters, made for the first volume of Mesnevî. It consists of an introduction followed by three chapters. Brief information about Mesnevî is given and Mesnevî commentaries and translations are discussed in the introduction. In the first part, İsmâîl Ankaravî’s life and his works are discussed. In the second part, his methods and the resources he used while he was preparing his commentary are discussed, and the contents of the commentary are investigated. In the final part, we discuss our method of research, the versions of the commentary and the orthography of the version we used. After that, the "Metin" part, in which there is a transcription of the commentary, is followed by the "Dizin" part. Thus, it is intended to note the place and significance of Ankaravî’s Sharh of Mesnevî in Turkish culture and literature.Key words: Sharh (commentary), Mevlânâ, Mesnevî, Ankaravî, 17. century.
