Abstract
Après avoir défini le Passage du Nord-Ouest, décrit le phénomène de dégel qui s'y produit et ses conséquences, ce travail retrace les positions canadiennes et leur pendant principalement américain quant au statut de ses eaux. Il analyse ensuite les justifications juridiques sur lesquelles les positions canadiennes et américaines se basent. Enfin, il aborde le système international actuel de protection la région arctique et les perspectives d'évolution du Conseil de l'Arctique.
