Abstract
L’objectif de cet article est de situer l’exclusion scolaire en Ontario sur les plans sociaux, législatifs et des pratiques grâce à l’identification et l’exploration de différentes initiatives. L’exclusion scolaire en Ontario est un phénomène ayant vécu de nombreux changements sur les plans législatifs. Ainsi, bien que la présence de discrimination soit toujours présente dans les écoles, l’exclusion systémique a cédé le pas à la promotion de pratiques en respect du continuum de discipline progressive. Les différents mouvements législatifs sont d’abord explorés pour mieux situer les angles de la discipline progressive, soit les relations école-famille-communauté, les programmes de prévention et les programmes d’intervention. Une revue de la littérature scientifique a permis d’identifier cinq programmes et initiatives canadiennes en relation avec chaque angle.
