Abstract
Les ruptures d'approvisionnement sont un problème que connaissent les professionnels de la santé. Ces ruptures peuvent intervenir à chacune des étapes clés du circuit du médicament. C'est un phénomène international et particulièrement important en Amérique du Nord où les autorités gouvernementales tentent de créer un cadre législatif basé sur une collaboration entre les industriels, le gouvernement et les professionnels de la santé. Dans cet exposé, le phénomène des ruptures d'approvisionnement est décrit et expliqué au Canada et particulièrement au Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Sainte-Justine de Montréal faisant actuellement face à une crise de pénuries de médicaments sans précédent. La gestion de cette crise a nécessité la mobilisation d'énormément de ressources et a eu des conséquences administratives et cliniques. La priorité est de préserver à tout prix la sécurité des patients.
