Abstract
Oppgaven tar for seg hvordan norsk populærmusikk har markert seg i utlandet i perioden fra slutten av 1950-tallet og frem til 2005. Hovedfokus er lagt på bandet a-ha, og det blir drøftet hvordan de oppnådde sin suksses og hvordan de kan kalles norske. Oppgaven gir også en analyse av musikkvideoen til deres gjennombruddssang, "Take On Me". Det blir også drøftet hvorvidt a-ha suksses har ført til at også andre norske band har fått et gjennombrudd i utlandet.
