Abstract
Suite à la rencontre avec une femme suivie pour psychose, l'auteur se penche sur la question de l'interruption volontaire de grossesse au sein de cette population. Il nous présente une étude personnelle de 20 cas qui cherche à établir dans quelle mesure ces patientes ont recours à l'IVG et bénéficient d'une couverture contraceptive. Il compare les chiffres obtenus à d'autres études similaires, ainsi qu'à la population générale. L'auteur aborde ensuite les questions législatives et éthiques qui entourent la procréation des personnes souffrant de troubles psychiatriques. Il cherche ainsi à montrer que, malgré les risques liés à la maternité des femmes psychotiques, l'IVG n'est pas un acte anodin, et qu'il peut parfois être prévenu par le dialogue et la mise en place d'une contraception.
