Abstract
Embora as obras Peter Pan, escrita pelo autor escocês James Matthew Barrie, e Capitães da Areia, escrita por Jorge Amado, sejam narrativas de propostas distintas e idealizadas em contextos diferentes, compartilham o perfil dos personagens principais, garotos em situação de abandono. O presente trabalho traça um paralelo entre as duas obras, expondo tanto as suas diferenças como as suas semelhanças. Desta forma, abordo a condição dos garotos abandonados e a representação das mulheres que estão inseridas no contexto desses garotos e são imprescindíveis para a construção dessas narrativas. Por fim considero que ambas as obras são exemplos de como a literatura pode atuar na vida do ser humano.
