Abstract
Un nombre de personnes s'est posé la question : Qu'est ce que devenu le PADIS ? Ce court papier a été rédigé comme réponse à cette question. PADIS - Le système panafricain d'information pour le développement était un projet fonde à la CEA en 1980, avec le soutien de FUNESCO, le PNUD et le Centre Canadien des Recherches pour le développement International. Son objectif était de créer à la CEA une base de donnée centralisée d'information pour le développement et de former, dans les Etats membres, des spécialistes en information afin de développer des bases de données similaires dans leur pays respectif. Les bases de données permettront la publication de bulletins périodiques, portant sur les nouveautés qui seront introduits dans le système central et seront par conséquent disponibles à tous les utilisateurs. Le système a été conçu selon le modèle IDRC DEVSIS.
