Abstract
O presente estudo tem como objetivo reconstruir, por meio de fontes documentais e orais, o processo de introdução da prática da Ginástica Rítmica no clube Grêmio Náutico União (GNU), ocorrida no final da década de 1970 até a participação de suas atletas e treinadoras nos Jogos Pan Americanos de 1999, em Winnipeg, no Canadá. A análise documental e dos depoimentos revelaram que o GNU contribuiu para o reconhecimento do estado do Rio Grande do Sul como um dos pólos da GR no Brasil.
