Abstract
1342 stu dents (1013 undergraduate and 329 graduate and professional) are listed in this commencement program.The candidates for undergraduates include 252 Associate in Arts, 46 Bachelor of Apphed Science, 51 Bachelor of Health Science, 249 Bachelor of Business Administration, 273 Bachelor of Science, 135 Bachelor of Arts, and 7 Bachelor of Social Work.In addition to the 1342 students in the graduation program today, 1034 students have earned bachelor's degrees through the University's program at Tunku Abdul Rahman College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.Of the graduate and professional candidates, there are 93 Master of Business Administration, 27 Master of Education, 2 Master of School Admimstration, 12 Master of Arts, 21 Master of Divinity, 86 Doctor of Pharmacy, and 88 Juris Doctors.Included with the 1342 in the program today are the 430 students who completed their degree in December 2000 and another 223 who finished in August 2000.The 689 candidates who completed their requirements this month complete the Class of 2001.Today's ceremony marks the 115th graduation exercises of Campbell University.Established in 1887 as an academy with a charter-class enrollment of sixteen students, Campbell University has developed into a major university that will enroll more than 8,500 students during the 2001 academic year.Students hail from all one-hundred North Carolina counties, fifty states of the United States and fifty-three countries of the world.EstabUshed as a hberal arts coUege which initially awarded the Associate and Bachelors degrees, the academic program of Campbell University was greatly expanded in 1976 when the trustees authorized the establishment of graduate programs in education and business and the awarding of the Master of Education and Master of Business Administration degrees.Doctoral programs were authorized by the tmstees in 1976 with the establishment of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and the awarding of the Juris Doctor degree.The Doctor of Pharmacy degree was approved in 1985 with the estabhshment of the Campbell University School of Pharmacy and the Doctor of Education degree in 1985 with the organ ization of the Campbell University School of Education.The university's newest and sixth school.The Campbell University Divinity School, was established on October 25,1995 and enrolled the charter class in
