Abstract
The United Church of Canada's General Council \ndetermined that all members could be considered for \nordained ministry regardless of sexual orientation \nin 1988. \nThe membership was not unanimous in this matter. \nThis research tests the hypothesis that the response \nto homosexual ordination will reflect social differences \nwhich are related to modernity. \nThe research involved a survey questionnaire completed \nby members/adherents of a United Church of Canada \ncongregation in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
