Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Human trichinellosis is a worldwide zoonosis caused by different species of Trichinella, which can survive and adapt to the environmental conditions. Over the last decades molecular biology breakthrough allows the identification of encapsulated and non-encapsulated clades on all continents. The following species and genotypes: T. spiralis, T. nativa, T. nelsoni, T. britovi, T. murrelli, T. patagoniensis, T. chanchalensis (the last species found in Canada, in Gulo gulo), T6, T8 and T9 belongs to the encapsulated clade while T. pseudospiralis, T. papuae and T. zimbabwensis belong to the non encapsulated clade. In America and other continents, Trichinella infection is a health issue for people, which has a negative impact on meat markets. Trichinellosis is endemic in Argentina and during the 2019-2021 period, there were 1532 human cases. Carnivores act as concentrators and contribute to the maintenance of the parasite in nature. In pigs, the establishment of larvae, generate important disturbances and pathological changes in skeletal muscles and organs. Wild boars (Sus scrofa) are excellent hosts for the genus Trichinella and, as occurs in pigs, symptoms are scarce. Horses and herbivores can acquire Trichinella spp. through occasional consumption of infected meat. It is important to consider that all domestic and wild animals destined for consumption must be analyzed to avoid the disease in man.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
