October 4, 2005)-Residents from the communities of Alberta, Chokio, Donnelly, Hancock and Morris will come together in friendship and support for their neighbors in the Gulf Coast during a Stevens County Community Fundraiser for the residents affected by recent hurricanes.The event is set from 5 to 8 p.m. (note revised time) Monday, Oct. 10, in the new Morris Area Elementary School.Free food will be provided by local restaurants, along with music, dancing, a silent auction and raffles.In addition to food, raffle items and other supplies have been donated by area businesses.Free bus rides from Morris Transit are available within the city limits of Morris by calling 589-1000.The event is being coordinated by a coalition of the Stevens County business, civic, K-12 and higher education, faith and service community.All proceeds will go to The Salvation Army and American Red Cross to assist Gulf coast residents.
