Part 1: Reclaiming the Roots of Feminist Resistance: remembering the past, looking to the future Part 2: Shahrzad Arshadi on Women in Nepal - Lives of Resistance On today's program, a discussion with the 8th march collective of women of diverse origins about 'reclaiming the roots of feminist resistance', also, we have shahrzad arshadi in-studio to speak about 'women in nepal - lives of resistance'. On March 10th 2007, for the sixth year in a row, the March 8th Coordination and Action Committee of Women of Diverse Origins will be hosting a public forum in Montreal to celebrate International Women's Day. The South Asian Community News collective recorded and facilitated a conversation with the organizers around the theme of this years conference: "Reclaiming the Roots of Feminist Resistance: remembering the past, looking to the future". Shahrzad Arshadi - photographer, feminist, and activist - was in-studio and gave us a report back about her recent trip to Nepal. She talked about the Moaist struggle for democracy and the role of women in that struggle. SOUTH ASIAN COMMUNITY NEWS is a bi-monthly 1 hour radio program produced by members of the south asian community in Montreal, Canada, for community radio CKUT 90.3FM. It is a forum about local and global issues affecting south asians. We are supporters of social justice and will strive to bring you voices from the community.
