Un projet de lotissement et les résultats positifs d’un diagnostic réalisé au mois de février 2016 par Christophe Landry (Inrap) ont motivé la prescription d’une fouille archéologique à Seynod (74), au lieu-dit Le Grand Pré. La commune occupe un plateau dominant au sud-ouest l’agglomération d’Annecy et bordé à l’est par la montagne du Semnoz.
