Le présent mémoire vise à mieux comprendre les changements dans la réussite et l'attachement scolaires associés aux transitions familiales subséquentes à la première rupture des parents. L'étude est basée sur un sous-échantillon de familles séparées provenant de l'Étude longitudinale du développement des enfants du Québec (ÉLDEQ). Des analyses longitudinales multiniveaux ont été effectuées sur 203 enfants âgés entre 8 et 15 ans au moment de la séparation conjugale. Les résultats de la présente étude montrent que le cumul de transitions familiales est associé à une diminution significative de la réussite scolaire à travers le temps, et ce, en tenant compte de la contribution des caractéristiques sociodémographiques. La survenue à court terme d'une transition familiale ainsi que le type de structure familiale ne sont pas significativement associés à l'évolution de la réussite et de l'attachement scolaires. Ces résultats suggèrent qu'une attention particulière doit être portée à la trajectoire scolaire des enfants de parents séparés exposés à de l'instabilité familiale à travers le temps.
