Abstract
L'organisation de ce colloque (AMHAD les 30 et 31 octobre 2003) révèle une prise de conscience nouvelle des problèmes de mobilité rencontrés dans la ville par les personnes handicapées. Cependant, la notion de handicap est souvent limitée dans les esprits à celle de handicap physique ou sensoriel. La question abordée ici est celle des difficultés rencontrées par les personnes déficientes intellectuelles dans la ville. Notre démarche cherche à en définir la nature, afin de produire, à terme, un savoir nouveau en aménagement. Un premier travail d'enquête a été mené auprès d'adolescents accueillis en institutions spécialisées, à partir du questionnaire québécois sur la qualité de vie. La politique d'accessibilité française a multiplié les règles spécifiques de construction sans véritables moyens de contrôle de leur efficacité. Remettre l'homme au centre des processus de production spatiale nous semble la condition d'un développement réellement durable.
