Abstract
The "Barrie," originally named “Robert P. Kernan,” was built in 1925 by the Collingwood Ship Building Co., Ltd. of Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. The Canadian vessel (151045) was first owned by Hall Corp. of Canada, Ltd., of Montreal, from 1925 until 1926. Ownership then transferred to Canada Steamship Lines, Ltd., also of Montreal, from 1926 until 1960. In 1927, her name was changed to “Barrie.” In the summer of 1960, the steel propeller vessel was scrapped by the Steel Co. of Canada, Ltd., at Hamilton, Ontario.
