\nGuernica, redattore della rivista trilingue Viceversa, è uno degli scrittori che maggiormente ha praticato l'autotraduzione nel contesto canadese, profondamente segnato dalla presenza del fenomeno.
\nDopo una breve presentazione del suo percorso di autotraduttore, che coinvolge tutta la produzione dello scrittore poligrafo (saggi, romanzi, poesie), l'autrice si focalizza sull'intensa attività autotraduttiva in ambito poetico, esaminando le trasformazioni subite dai testi, spesso autotradotti più volte e in lingue diverse (francese, inglese e italiano). L'esercizio stesso di tale pratica autotraduttiva comporta inevitabilmente la rivisitazione critica di nozioni quali quelle di lingua madre, di originale, di pubblico e di letteratura nazionale.
