Abstract
Antonio Díaz Bautista, Catedrático de Derecho Romano de la Universidad de Murcia, publicó entre 1979 y 1987 una serie de los trabajos sobre las garantías personales y los negocios bancarios en la legislación de Justiniano. En el presente artículo se presentan los resultados de tales investigaciones entre las que resalta la obra "Estudios sobre la banca bizantina" publicado en Murcia, en 1987. En él se analizan los distintos contratos bancarios regulados en la Novelas de Justiniano y las innovaciones introducidas a petición de la corporación bancaria. Especial interés merecen las conclusiones a que le Autor llega sobre la Kazara antifonesis y su identificación con el receptum argentari, supuestamente derogado -por desusado- por Justiniano en CJ 4.18.2
